Instagram already has new fonts available for Instagram stories but for now the update for this feature has not been rolled out yet for some locations. My friend in the Philippines has already started using the new fonts for Instagram stories and they look really awesome it makes me jealous for not having this update yet.
Some may not know this so I will mention it anyway. When viewing Instagram stories, you can go back to the previous story by tapping on the lower left part of the screen and forward to the next story by tapping on the lower right or upper right part of the screen. So if you want to fast forward a story (I do not know if this affects the viewing numbers), you can do so by tapping on the lower right or upper right part of the screen. Continually tapping on the upper left part of the screen would enable you to repeat a particular story from its very beginning – useful in case you didn’t catch the first part of the message of the story during the first viewing. If you want to pause to be able to read everything in the story, of course, you’ll simply hold tap on the screen and release if you’re ready to move on to the next story. These gestures, of course, work with past live stories – stories from users who recently went live which sometimes show up as a blinking play button for a while after the live session has ended.
When viewing Instagram stories, your name would be registered as a viewer on an IG public user’s story even if you do not follow each other. Even if you only had few comment exchanges in either one of your or his/her post, your name will still be registered as a viewer.
I sent a Feedback to Instagram regarding the story viewers feature and requested an option where a user can have the option to toggle between seeing all viewers’ thumbnail display pictures and simply numbers of viewers at the bottom of each story.
