Cooking Dash Sundae Fundae Tip

The episodes in Cooking Dash’s Sundae Fundae can be tedious to play especially when you have to serve two or multiple orders to a customer. The trick is not to pick up orders by individual item but to focus on each customer’s order(s) collectively. I experimented with picking up items individually versus picking them up and putting it on the counter simultaneously and the latter has proven to be more time-efficient. However, I do notice the Auto Chef does get my order confused sometimes:

 

Do not prepare the orders in advance, unless you’ve played it too many times and you’re already familiar with the upcoming orders. Still, I find that doing it in that manner confuses Auto Chef and it gives you a different order needlessly.

Needless to say, this tip does apply to all Cooking Dash shows. Sundae Fundae is just one show I made an example of because I’ve had several glitches when it comes to orders involving bananas.

RCBC to GCash Cash-in is Back

Earlier today I got an alert on my iPhone to update my GCash mobile app and that the new update not only includes the RCBC-GCash and BPI-GCash cash-ins but also a list of their over-the-counter partners right within the GCash mobile app.

For a few months registering GCash within the RCBC Online Banking platform had been disabled. It’s a good thing they have brought the feature back. If you access your Globe sim menu and select GCash > Registration by dialing *119#, you will see the option to register your BPI and RCBC accounts. I also know that one of the advice you read from those travel forums mentions MBK as one of those places where you can buy cheap luggage in Bangkok. I did go to MBK my first time here in Bangkok and even though you can haggle with the small store owners, I would not recommend it and I am writing this to give you, readers, another convenient option.

There is no shortage of buying cheap luggage in Bangkok and hailing from the Philippines myself and once in a while trying to convert my baht into pesos in my head, I have come to know the difference. My first stay in Bangkok was in May this year for two weeks and I arrived here in Nonthaburi (same place I stayed at before) on July 2nd and am about to leave on July 30th, that’s in two days from now.  During these two separate visits, I have bought 2 luggages.

When I tried going to MBK because Caucasian and European travelers alike deemed it as one of the best places to buy cheap luggage in Bangkok, I was questioning myself whether or not it was worth heeding that travel forum advice. Since I stayed in Nonthaburi in May, it was quite a travel by taxi to get to MBK. I had to pay for the toll fee once, which the Grab driver was kind enough to let me know. MBK is huge and I did scout each floors for stores selling luggages and after two hours I was not so impressed. So, yeah, you better think twice about what you read on travel forums these days.

I did find a decent page to buy cheap luggage in Bangkok, though. I tried browsing through Lazada.com’s Thailand page. I already have a Lazada account from the Philippines and I did have to sign up again by using my Google sign-in credentials, too. It was shipped to my apartment within two days and best of all, delivery was free. I bought it for 999 Baht; the ones I found in MBK were around 1500 Baht. I did get a better deal and I did not have to go out, pay for the fare and toll fees because the luggage was delivered right to my doorstep.

My second luggage purchase from Lazada Thailand was priced at 890 Baht. I bought it just this month. You have to be aware of the dimensions you want in a luggage. The item description in the website is not lacking in that info. And, yes, I also did get it within two days from ordering it at Lazada Thailand’s website.

If you’re staying more than a week in Bangkok and need to replace your luggage, try to browse through Lazada Thailand. Make sure you tick the option “Ships from Bangkok/Thailand”.

 

Hello, Yellow Cab & Max’s Group. Will You Ever Reimburse Me?

In two months’ time I will have commemorated my 1 year anniversary of not having been reimbursed by Yellow Cab. Someone once told me no matter how insignificant the amount owed may be, you still have to get back what’s yours.

On August 6, 2016, I ordered via Yellow Cab’s mobile app. An error appeared when I clicked through the payment gateway – it rejected the transaction on the grounds that my card did not have sufficient balance. Well, I checked before I ordered so I was sure I had enough on my reloadable prepaid card (it was the RCBC Mercury Drug MyWallet Visa Card). However, when I checked my balance and transaction history in my RCBC AccessOne mobile app, I saw the amount due for the Yellow Cab order had been deducted.

I contacted Yellow Cab’s customer support and they sent me a screenshot of their system indicating the transaction I made using the MyWallet Visa card was rejected.

By September 18, 2016 I had to contact RCBC’s Customer Support because I was still not refunded the amount. October came and RCBC had not replied. If you don’t proactively follow up with them, they’d forget it about it. Out of sight, out of mind.

By October 29, 2016, RCBC’s Customer Support told me that according to their ATM center, they could no longer do a reversal because the amount had already been remitted to the merchant. After that date, all subsequent e-mail exchange had been between Yellow Cab or a representative of the Max’s Group as they are collectively called and I.

On November 1, 2016 I had to send a follow-up e-mail to Max’s Group because my October 29th e-mail was ignored. Jharry from Customer Care replied that they will be coordinating with their merchant bank and that “Rest assured that we are with you in monitoring this concern.”

Silence. On November 17, 2016, I decided to send a follow-up e-mail. No reply. On November 21, 2016, I reiterated my request for an update. NOTHING. On December 2, 2016, I sent an e-mail again. I did get a reply on December 3, 2016 that they have not received a reply from their merchant bank yet. Sure. My December 28, 2016 and January 25, 2017 e-mails were ignored.

Thank you so much, Max’s Group, for ignoring me.

 

 

 

 

GCash Follow-Up E-mail

Although I praise GCash for preoccupying themselves with their customers’ security, I still couldn’t forget how traumatizing it was to experience PayPal to GCash cash-in delays thrice.

On June 8th, I received a follow-up e-mail from GCash regarding the transaction I made on June 7th.

I replied to the e-mail and informed them I have done withdrawals in small batches for more than three weeks already, pointing out to them that in case the initial $15 does not go through, I only have a measly $15 to dispute with PayPal for 6 days instead of a hefty $278.

I hope my reply put things into perspective for them.
