I was in a bit of a quandary regarding accessing my PayPal account a few days ago. It made me question if PayPal has a system in place that automatically decides trusted login attempts for their users.
I use three devices in total – an iPhone, an ASUS tablet PC and a Cubix Windows tablet PC – and have tried to access my PayPal account on three devices on separate occasions. I had to disable the auto-fill feature to make sure that I entered the correct password. Only on the third device, the Cubix Windows tablet PC, did I see a red security alert exclamation warning even when – I repeat – manually entered the correct password. The problem became even more profound when I found out my PayPal purchase attempts on Fiverr using the iPhone and ASUS devices suddenly were successful. My previous attempts at paying via PayPal on Fiverr would not go through and I had to opt for the Credit/Debit Card option.

As for the Fiverr purchase attempts in the past using PayPal as payment method, I would see the error message “We are having a problem processing this order” on both the desktop version and the mobile version of Fiverr.
On other attempts, I could access my PayPal account on PayPal’s mobile app on my iPhone but could not access the same on the Cubix and ASUS devices. I had to be sure I logged out my account in my iPhone before trying to access it again on another device.
I have already sent a message to PayPal’s support about this issue and all I got was a totally unrelated canned response about updating my account information and changing my name on my Personal and Premier PayPal account.
